Holly Kent - Verified that PVP helped purchase prizes for 3rd term rewards carnival. $72 spent
Playground equipment update - district would have to change cement, re-fence, etc. It would cost between $40-50,000. Instead, P.E. technician needs new materials. Shanna proposed PVP help replace some of the items: 2 large parachutes, square floor scooters - classroom set, quality beach balls - estimate $850.
Lifetime tetherballs - need to be requested through the district.
PVP voted and approved to grant the school $1,000 for new P.E. equipment.
Proposed - PVP pay for Golden Bee yard signs to continue the tradition begun during Covid remote learning. Approved to purchase the 6 signs needed for this year.
Voted and approved a new annual budget line to be added for future golden bee signs of $100.
Yearbook - Lindsey took pictures of students who returned
Cost to students - $10/book, cash or check only
150 books will be ordered initially
To be sold during the last 2 weeks of school, and during kindergarten Luau May 14th, and kindergarten teddy bear picnic on May 13th.
Parent volunteers needed for sales - Lindsey will create sign-up
Proposed to give each teacher a yearbook: 15 teachers, roughly $105. Voted on and approved.
Field Day - Lindsey will donate vinyl for a waterslide.
School-wide field day - Gina will help coordinate parent volunteers to man the stations for May 26th.
PVP next year: Shanna will resend sign-ups for next year. Lindsey and Marissa will be coordinators - if necessary.
Carnival fundraiser tabled for one more year. Perhaps do another Scramble fundraiser.
Next year kick-off meeting: May 24th, 9am at the school.

Penny wars - Shanna will talk with faculty to pin down a date. We may wait until May. Parent help may be needed for counting money. Funds will be designated to technology needs at the school.
Teacher appreciation week is underway. Gluten-free dessert still needed for luncheon on Thursday. A’re managed to get Cafe Rio catering, will check on paper products. Two food tables, eating tables needed, school will help with decor. Teacher gifts - Amazon gift cards of $25 each, deliver Thursday. Lindsey will send reminders for lunch recess helpers.
Tetherballs - Lindsey contacted Lifetime for tetherballs, still haven’t heard back. School still needs some.
Art project - Mrs. Smith will be sole art teacher next year. PVP is willing to help pay for acrylic paints to create a rock garden.
Yearbook - will remote students and teachers be included?
Lindsey will contact Jill about SEP dinner for March 18th
Spelling Bee - 3 separate bees this year, by grade
1 parent helper needed per grade.
Lindsey will create a sign-up for 5th.
Gina will help with 4th, Lindsey will help with 3rd grade
Book Fair report - Shanna says none of the other principals encouraged doing an Usborne fair for students. She may use their catalog to supplement school materials. Spring Lake attempted an in-person Scholastic book fair, it was unsuccessful. We will forgo holding Scholastic book fairs the rest of this year.
Carol will let Usborne representative know we will attempt an Usborne fair near the end of this school year to gauge interest for next year
Marissa will be Scholastic Book Fair coordinator for 2021-2022 academic year
Teacher Appreciation Week - week of Apr. 29th
Gina Shirts will coordinate with Shanna & room parents. Room parents will create posters to hang for teachers and specialists (counselors, speech, SpEd, etc.)
Luncheon: Thursday, Apr. 1st, 11:15 - 12:30. Ar’e will plan for 45-50 people & research catering options. Need parent playground volunteers from 11:30-12:30pm.
Teacher gifts - counselor, preschool, 2 speech, special ed, psych. (21 gifts total). Lindsey will coordinate
Shanna will research if we can hold the penny wars - near end of April this year

Track meets will be held this year! 5th - April 20th, 4th - 22nd, 3rd - 27th, 29th make-up. Parent volunteers may be needed, 2/grade

End of year swim, if allowed, will be 4-5th grade only. May 27th and potentially slip and slide for upper grades as back up
